CGPC has been recognized by the “Temperature Rising Index for Pathways” (TRIPs) platform—jointly developed by Common
Wealth Magazine’s Sustainability Council and Tunghai University’s Center for Corporate Sustainability Impact—as one of
405 enterprises in Taiwan classified as “1.5°C Top Performers.” This recognition highlights CGPC’s concrete progress
and long-term commitment to climate action in alignment with global temperature control targets.
TRIPs is Taiwan’s only public evaluation platform that uses internationally recognized scientific
methodology—specifically the AGTP (Absolute Global Temperature Potential) model—to assess whether corporate carbon
reduction targets align with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C warming limit. In the 2024 assessment, 1,200 companies were
evaluated, of which only about one-third achieved the “Top Performer” threshold of ≤1.6°C.
CGPC’s carbon reduction performance was rated below 1.5°C through this third-party, independently conducted
evaluation. The result indicates that the company’s disclosed emissions data and reduction targets are preliminarily
aligned with TRIPs’ criteria for global temperature control. The outcome contributes to enhanced transparency on
climate-related issues and provides stakeholders with further insight into CGPC’s carbon reduction efforts.
According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange industry classification, CGPC is categorized under the “Plastics Industry,”
which corresponds to the “Plastics and Rubber Products” sector in the TRIPs platform. This sector has an average
warming score of 1.694°C across 27 participating companies. CGPC was recognized as one of the nine companies in this
sector to achieve a score below 1.6°C, reflecting its relatively strong performance in carbon reduction within the
industry.
Looking ahead, CGPC will continue implementing energy-saving and carbon-reduction initiatives, improving energy
efficiency, optimizing production processes, and strengthening carbon management practices. The company remains
committed to carefully planning its mid- and long-term decarbonization roadmap and fulfilling its responsibility in
addressing climate change—moving steadily toward sustainable development.
