Smart Manufacturing and Low-Carbon Transformation Achievements of TVCM and CGPCP Linyuan Plant

In alignment with the Group’s promotion of smart manufacturing and AI applications, TVCM’s Linyuan Plant has invested approximately NT$3 billion in a 10-year equipment renewal and smart upgrade program. This initiative includes the comprehensive replacement of EDC storage tanks, the upgrading of key process equipment, and the renewal of 69kV transformers. In addition, advanced technologies such as AI models, equipment monitoring, smart inspections, and image recognition have been introduced.
Among these, the AI-based early warning system is capable of detecting equipment anomalies up to 11 hours in advance. The plant has also been selected as a demonstration site under the Industrial Development Administration’s low-carbon transformation guidance program.
Meanwhile, CGPCP’s Linyuan Plant has achieved notable results through its dryer hot water and steam system improvement project, a key highlight of the year. By optimizing processes and enhancing the steam system, energy efficiency has been significantly improved, resulting in a 9.1% increase in production capacity, demonstrating tangible achievements in smart manufacturing and energy conservation.

Mr. Tsai Ming-Kuang, Plant Director of TVCM Linyuan Plant, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the “2026 TAISE Sustainability Trends Seminar,” sharing practical experiences of how the petrochemical industry leverages AI and smart manufacturing to drive low-carbon transformation.
In his presentation, he explained how the Linyuan Plant has implemented smart inspections, image recognition for occupational safety monitoring, and process energy optimization measures, demonstrating the company’s achievements in strengthening operational resilience through technological innovation and advancing toward low-carbon development.

Introduction to CGPC's 60th Anniversary Improvements

In pursuit of sustainable development, CGPC is looking forward to the next 50 years and aiming to become a benchmark enterprise within the group. Since 2016, we have launched various transformation plans, all of which have been successively completed.
In line with the government's net-zero emission policy, we are focusing on improving the overall structure of the Vinyl Chain. Our initiatives include the construction of an AI-enabled smart factory, carbon reduction initiatives, environmental friendliness, clean production, circular economy, and the development of renewable energy.

I am delighted to learn that we have over 200 volunteers from CGPC and TTC. Participants include both employees and their family members, with a special emphasis on children, aiming to cultivate an awareness of beach cleanliness. CGPC and TTC have both been committed to sustainable operations and development, focusing not only on recycling and circular economy in production, but also on energy conservation and carbon reduction. CGPC has incorporated artificial intelligence into its chemical production processes to optimize yields and quality, achieving energy-saving and carbon-reducing benefits. During process operations, operational baselines have been established, and monitoring is used to prevent anomalies. Next, machine learning will be applied to control operations within these baselines. In addition, process safety management (PSM) has been implemented for over five years and has developed into a comprehensive plan.
2023/09/16 Longfeng Beach clean-up Activity

This year marks the sixth year that our company has participated in beach cleaning at Long Feng Fishing Port. We plan the beach cleaning activity based on the concept of "caring for the earth, cleaning the planet," and everyone understands the significance of this event. We voluntarily take part in this activity to show our love for our hometown through practical actions, especially because our factory is located here—this is our hometown. USI Group is moving towards sustainable operation and development. CGPC has proposed a capital expenditure renovation plan of 4.5 billion on August 1 and obtained the board's approval. Out of the eight major renovations planned since 2017, we have completed seven, with a total investment of 2.8 billion. The eighth project, involving a capital expenditure of 4.5 billion, will be executed soon. We are committed to sustainable operation and development. We are especially pleased to see children participating today, as they understand that the companies where their parents work are engaged in sustainable operation and development. We wish everyone a fulfilling beach cleaning experience today.

In the past decade, significant advancements have been made in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, particularly in its deep learning capabilities and enhanced functionalities. This enables the computation of optimal models, facilitating a new phase of industrial operation and development. CGPC has long been deploying the introduction, promotion, and application of AI to enhance production capacity and product quality, improve processes, continuously reduce operating costs, and promote energy conservation and carbon reduction to achieve sustainable business operations.

2022/09/19 Participate in TOP100+ trends forum - Water resources management and circular economy

With extensive drought event in western Taiwan last year as an example, it is imperative for enterprises to plan early for water resource management strategies. In recent years, CGPC has been actively expanding the development of water resource recycling systems, such as processing wastewater recovery, pure water recycling, and steam condensate water recycling, promoting internal circular recycling. In 2021, the company successfully recycled 849.3 million liters of water internally throughout the year.

Chairman has been invited to speak at the Industry Association's "Forum on Our Country's Strategy and Industrial Development towards Carbon Neutrality" on 10/01/2021.

Regarding the goal of carbon neutrality, the government should first clarify the future energy development goals and the planned pathways to achieve them. Especially after 2050, this includes the long-term development and direction of Taiwan's energy infrastructure in order to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions. It is essential for the industry and the government to collaborate to achieve the long-term goal.

CGPC was honored to receive the Taiwan Stock Exchange's Company Governance Evaluation for the 108th fiscal year (6th edition) and ranked in the top 5% of listed companies with a market value of over 10 billion NT dollars in the non-financial electronic sector. We proudly achieved a ranking in the top 10%. The award was accepted by Vice General Manager on behalf of the company.
2020 Longfeng Beach clean-up Activity

2020 marked the fourth beach cleaning event organized by CGPC since adopting the initiative. This year, we reached a record-high participation with 207 individuals, bringing the cumulative total to 619 participants. In addition to employees, we were delighted to have suppliers join us, demonstrating CGPC's ongoing commitment to beach cleaning efforts.

CGPC takes the lead in the Occupational Safety and Health Family.

The Miaoli County Government and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor established the "Occupational Safety and Health Family" on 2020. CGPC was specially invited as the leader, aiming to leverage the mechanism of "large enterprises leading small enterprises" to elevate occupational safety and health work in local small and medium-sized enterprises.
To assist in COVID-19 prevention measures, CGPC, represented by the Vice Chairman, donated bleach to the Miaoli County Government. Additionally, donations of bleach were also made to the Zhunan and Toufen municipalities, as well as other companies under the USI Group. The total amount donated was approximately 10 metric tons of bleach, in an effort to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.

To assist in COVID-19 prevention measures, CGPC, represented by the Vice Chairman, donated bleach to the Miaoli County Government. Since 2017, CGPC has been collaborating with the Miaoli County Environmental Protection Bureau in their marine environmental policies. As part of our proactive efforts, we have adopted and taken care of a 500-meter stretch of the Long Feng Fishing Port beach in Zhunan Town (please refer to the Coastal Cleanup Adoption System at https://ecolife2.epa.gov.tw/coastal/statistics/SeaClean.aspx). Through this activity, we aim to educate ourselves and future generations about the importance of not littering. 2019 Kaohsiung Love River Dragon Boat Festival

The Kaohsiung City Government, in order to promote folk sports activities and showcase the cultural characteristics of each district, is organizing a dragon boat race. The competition will take place from June 7th to June 9th, 2019 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM each day. Once again, the Taiwan Company Group is collaborating with the Kaohsiung City Government's Bureau of Sports Development to hold the "2019 Kaohsiung Love River Dragon Boat Carnival" event. In addition to participating in the local activities, we hope to cultivate the spirit of teamwork among our employees and inspire their determination to strive for honor. Invisibly, this event aims to educate and enhance employee morale. We hope that in the future, the colleagues at Taiwan Company Group will have the same never-give-up spirit as in the competition and work together to contribute to Taiwan's economic development.

CGPC held a beach cleaning activity on September 8th, with nearly 150 employees participating. In just a few hours, they managed to collect several dozen bags of trash, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the local community in Miaoli. The General Manager personally led the team, and when asked about salary increases this year, he mentioned that the highest adjustment, with a 5% increase, would be for front-line employees. CGPC's beach cleaning event at Long Feng Fishing Port has entered its second year, and this year the employees have been even more enthusiastic, dedicating their weekend time to participate. In just a few hours one morning, they managed to clear out 356 kilograms of trash. In response to environmental protection, CGPC not only contributes to the local community by cleaning the beach but also adopts streetlights, fulfilling its corporate responsibility.

Every year, they regularly gather volunteers from the company to participate in beach cleaning activities, aiming to maintain the cleanliness of the coastal area. By actively engaging employees in environmental protection activities, CGPC hopes to raise awareness of the importance of marine conservation and contribute to the well-being of our planet.
