As the autumn and winter seasons approach, western Taiwan often experiences
poor air quality due to unfavorable atmospheric dispersion conditions. To
strengthen environmental protection and prevent air quality deterioration, the
Miaoli County Environmental Protection Bureau (EPB) has launched the Miaoli
County Air Pollution Control Plan (2024–2027). The EPB actively engages major
petrochemical companies in the county to build a shared commitment to air
pollution control through the signing of voluntary emission reduction
agreements, promoting collaboration between government and industry to
safeguard air quality.
In response to this initiative, CGPC actively supported the Miaoli County
EPB’s policy and signed the Seasonal Air Pollution Voluntary Emission
Reduction Agreement in November 2025. The company also received a Certificate
of Appreciation from Deputy Director Shen of the Miaoli County EPB. Under the
agreement, CGPC will implement process adjustments and load-reduction measures
during the high air pollution season from November 2025 to April 2026 to
proactively reduce particulate matter, sulfur oxides (SOx), and nitrogen
oxides (NOx) emissions.
By signing this voluntary reduction agreement, CGPC demonstrates its strong
commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, working hand
in hand with the local government to improve air quality, protect community
health, and foster a cleaner and more livable environment.
