TVCM Invited to Attend the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ “Awan 2.0” Working Group Meeting and Share Its Smart Petrochemical Transformation Achievements

Chairman Yeh, Chun-Chang and the General Plant Manager Tsai, Ming-Kuang of Taiwan VCM Corporation (TVCM) were invited to attend the eighth Interministerial Working Group Meeting for the “Awan 2.0 – Smart Technology Innovation Park Promotion Program” on July 17, 2026. The meeting was jointly chaired by Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Chin-Tsang Ho and Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung Ta-Sheng Lo. During the meeting, the General Plant Manager Tsai, Ming-Kuang shared TVCM’s progress in promoting smart petrochemical development and its practical application results.

TVCM has actively participated in the “Smart Petrochemical Sustainable Development Program” promoted by the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and previously received the “Smart Application Practice Award” for the Linyuan Industrial Park. The meeting brought together representatives from the National Development Council, National Science and Technology Council, Ministry of Digital Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government, agencies under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and state-owned enterprises. TVCM shared the practical achievements of its Linyuan Plant in progressively advancing digital management and smart transformation based on its core needs in occupational safety, environmental protection, fire safety, and plant management.

The presentation covered three major themes:
1. Business Survival Challenges and Systematic Reflection:
Drawing lessons from past occupational safety incidents, TVCM transformed its risk management needs into opportunities for smart transformation, progressing from equipment upgrades toward systematic and comprehensive smart operations.

2. Digital Management and Smart Transformation of Petrochemical Plants:
TVCM has introduced a smart Process Safety Management (PSM) platform, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), GC-MASS gas detection, an AI-based real-time underground pipeline leak detection system, and a smart weighbridge. These applications have reduced abnormality detection and operational response times to mere seconds, significantly strengthening the plant’s occupational safety resilience.

3. Conclusions and Future Outlook:
TVCM expressed its appreciation for the resources and support provided by the Industrial Development Administration. Going forward, the Company will continue to deepen the application of AI and smart technologies, develop a model smart petrochemical plant that combines safety, efficiency, and competitiveness, and share its transformation experience from the perspective of the USI Group to promote smart transformation and sustainable development across the industry.
