CGPC Main Plant Promotes Job Redesign for Middle-Aged and Older Employees to Create a Safer and More Supportive Workplace

China General Plastics Corporation (CGPC) Main Plant actively promotes job redesign for middle-aged and older employees by introducing appropriate assistive equipment, improving working environments, and optimizing work processes to reduce physical strain and the risk of occupational injuries while enhancing workplace safety and operational efficiency. In 2026, CGPC participated in the Ministry of Labor's "Job Redesign Service Program," utilizing government subsidies to improve working conditions for middle-aged and older employees and foster a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace.

The program primarily targets employees aged 45 and above. CGPC submitted its application in March 2026 and, following on-site inspections and review meetings, received official notifications of approval for subsidies covering selected job redesign improvement items from the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Regional Branch of the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, on September 8 and September 21, respectively. Subsequent procurement and reimbursement procedures will be carried out in accordance with the approved items. The approved equipment and assistive devices include electric pallet trucks, digital vernier calipers, and zero-gravity lifting arms. These improvements aim to reduce manual handling workloads and operational risks by enhancing work methods and conditions.

For material handling operations on the plastic sheeting and soft film production line, CGPC plans to improve traditional manual lifting and material transfer processes through job redesign assessments, assistive equipment, and workflow adjustments. These measures are intended to reduce musculoskeletal strain on employees while improving workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Looking ahead, CGPC will continue to improve working environments and promote job redesign, enabling middle-aged and older employees to leverage their professional experience and extend their contributions in the workplace. Through these efforts, CGPC remains committed to employee health and well-being, occupational safety and health management, and a people-centered approach to sustainable business operations.
